Both of his parents are Palestinian. His father was born in Lydda (Lod) Palestine in 1948. His mother was born in Damascus, Syria in 1959, but her family was originally from Lydda (Lod) Palestine. Said studied Pharmacy at a technical college in Amman, Jordan. Said and Hanan met in Syria through a marriage arranged by both families. Said moved to Edmonton, Alberta in 1970 from Kuwait, where he was working and running a Pharmacy in Kuwait City. Said and Hanan were married in 1975 and Hanan moved to Edmonton, Alberta to join her husband. Househ's father ran a successful wholesale and gift ware business, "Sid's Wholesale" located at [[Northgate|Northgate Mall]].
