Although her career in fashion was flourishing, Subijano decided to fulfill her dream of working in journalism and [[newscasting]]. Back in college, she had already started her training as a public and community relations intern for KRON/[[NBC]] Channel 4 and as a broadcast news intern for KTVU/[[Fox Broadcasting Company|Fox]] Channel 2. She soon became a sportscaster and entertainment anchor for local channels in the Philippines and joined the news team of [[Sky Cable]] News, an affiliate of [[ABS-CBN
