Pfaudler manufactures glass and fluoropolymer-lined reactors and components for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Deutsche Beteiligungs bought Pfaudler from US firm National Oilwell Varco. Pfaudler was founded in the US in the late 1800s and set up a production plant in Schwetzingen, Germany to circumvent export costs.

In India, Pfaudler partnered with Gujarat Machinery Manufacturers (GMM) for a joint venture,
 before acquiring 51a 40% stake in the company and renaming itin 1987.
