 History:

 The Wing ZERO was the first Gundam Designed in the AC Era, and was the only one of it's kind over fifteen years before the five pilots and their Gundams would ever take the war against the Earth Alliance and OZ.

 The Wing ZERO came to be in existence, several years after the five scientist developed the first Mobile Suit...the Tallgeese. The Earth Alliance had gained access to the Tallgeese and although none of their pilots had the physical skills and expertise to master the mighty Mobile Suit, they used the blue-prints of the Tallgeese to manufacture their Mobile Suits, the LEO and it's air-combat cousin, the Aries, and along with several other designs based on the Tallgeese. With the new weapons in their arsenals, it didn't take long for more agressive members of the Alliance command to begin a campaign of oppression and absue on the Colonies, and at the time, the Colonies had no standing military forces, and even if they did, the Alliance's Mobile Suits were able to overpower them.

 When the five scientists discovered the actions of the Alliance, they decided to get justice for the Colonies by creating another Mobile Suit, with the Power needed to surpass the Tallgeese. They used their combined knowledge and used the latest alloy ever designed in the conditions of deep space...Gundanium. This alloy was virtually indestructible and could withstand all the known arsenals of the Alliance. Gundanium however was very expensive to manufacture, and considering that they all didn't have the funding and material to mass produce Gundanium, they knew that their creation would defeat the Alliance and the Tallgeese with no problems, as the Tallgeese was only made of Titanium at the time of it's conception. And they were the only ones who knew the manufacturing process of the alloy.

 Thus was born the Wing ZERO, and considering the sheer magnitude of it's design and arsenal...it was truly a devastating weapon. In addition to being totally manueverable, it also had the "Neo Bird" Mode, granting the transforming Wing ZERO immense speed in both zero gravity and atmospheric combat. Along with it's deadly head mounted gattling cannons, beam sabers, and shoulder mounted machine cannons. The Wing ZERO possessed the most devastating weapon ever wielded by a Mobile Suit...the Twin Buster rifle, a devastating anti-matter particle rifle that could decimate entire squads of Mobile Suits, and when separated, could destroy entire waves of targets.

 The ultimate feature of the Wing ZERO however, which totally set it apart form the Mobile Suits of it's time was the "ZERO" combat computer/pilot interface system in it's cockpit. This new weapon could merged with the mind of the pilot, though how was not completely known, it was said to sample a pilot's thoughts and grant him/her the knowledge and skills to achieve total victory...or total defeat. Essesntially, this system could feed literally billions of combat information to the pilot, and present various scenarios and outcomes, which the pilot could choose from, depending on his/her frame of mind. Ironically, this devastating feature which was the Wing ZERO's ultimate advantage was also the Gundam's ultimate disadvantage, as the pilot of the Wing ZERO had to be of great mental and emotional endurance to handle the full power of the "ZERO" system. The scientists knew that any normal pilot exposed to "ZERO" system could become totally unstable and become a 'berserker' unable to tell the difference between friend and foe...and considering the already devastating arsnel of the Wing ZERO, namely the Twin Buster Rifle, this Mobile Suit was too deadly to be in the hands of any normal man.

 With that in mind, the designs of the Wing ZERO were separated by the scientists, and the Wing ZERO project was officially discontinued by the five scientists, who then decided to created their own personal Gundams for their still existing plan to defeat the Earth Alliance and OZ. Thus the first Gundam existed only in computer schematics and paper.

 Sadly, fate dictated that this Gundam would see combat in the war. The Gundam Wing ZERO ironically owed it's creation to the innocent and kind pilot of Gundam Sandrock, Quatre Raberba Winner. Quatre, after returning to space ahd to deal with the deaths of his father, the Head of the Winner Family's Industrial Empire, and that of his older sister (the name escapes me though) due to the cooperation of the Colonies with OZ. In a fit of anger and desperation, Quatre decided to find a weapon that would allow him to destroy anyone fighting in space and put a halt to the madness. he then found the full design plans of Wing ZERO in the files left behind by Sandrock's creator Instructor H, and using the vast funding and resources of his family's industrial empire, Quatre brought the dreaded Gundam to life. Not knowing of the deadly ZERO system in the Wing ZERO, Quatre began his quest to bring some sanity back to the Colonies, and though he had initial success, it didn't take long for the deadly side of the "ZERO" system to take over the mind of the young pilot, turning his temporary anger and sadness into a complete desire to destroy anything he considered a foe, including the total obliteration of a space colony. It was through the efforts of both Trowa and Heero, that Quatre regained control of himself, and thus the Wing ZERO was abandoned.

 This powerful weapon however didn't become worhtless as it changed hands with various pilots, until it finally landed in the hands of OZ ace pilot Zechs Merquise who used the Wing ZERO in his own crusade against OZ, and until, in a duel between the former Lightning Count and Heero Yuy, who at the time piloted another Gundam with the "ZERO" system known as the Epyon, did the Gundam land into the hands of Heero Yuy. Through their separate experiences and their intense training, did both Zechs and Heero gain the mental and emotional endurance to use the "ZERO" system to it's full power without becoming insane and becoming berserkers.

 The Wing ZERO played a valueable part in the final stages in the war as with it's abilities and that of it's pilot Heero, allowed it to destroy the fragment of the White Fang Battle Station Libra which was in a collision course on Earth.

 History:

 The Wing ZERO had served it's purpose at the end of the war between the World Nation and the White Fang. Heero, at the end of the war began to customize the Gundam. Heero removed the transformation mode, and in the "Neo Bird" Mode's palce were new wings made of Gundanium, these new wings granted the customized Gundam powerful abilities in both space and atmospheric combat, and the outer wings could come forward and act as heat shields when the Gundam was to enter a planet's atmosphere, and could protect the pilot from possible radiation. Along with changes to the Gundam and it's combat systems, Heero also decided to improve the Twin Buster Rifle, the trade-mark weapon of the Wing ZERO.

 The formation of the Earth Sphere Unified Nation and the banning of all combat technology however, made it seem as if the Gundams were no longer needed to settle conflicts. So, Heero, along with Duo Maxwell, the Pilot of Gundam DeathScythe Hell Custom, Trowa Barton, Pilot of Gundam Heavy Arms Custom, and Quatre Raberba Winner, Pilot of Gundam Sandrock Kai Custom agreed to end the Gundams. They decided to place their Mobile Suits in a resource disposal satellite and send the satellite into the sun. With that in mind, the Gundams were to finally fade away as a new era of peace seemed to arrive for all in the Earth and the Colonies.

 However, it seemed that not everybody was happy with the whole arrangement, as a new military force came into light. This group was named the Mariemeia Army, and it's leader was the daughter of late OZ leader Trieze Khusrenda and Leia Barton, a daughter of the matriarch of the Barton Foundation. The Barton Foundation activated the original Operation Meteor and planned to take over Earth and soon, the Colonies. With that as their latest Mission, Heero and the rest of his fellow pilots, have to retrieve their Gundams, and combat Mariemeia and the army that now threatens the fragile, newly earned peace of both the Earth and the Colonies.
