Users are advised to read all Help files before making any changes, and to prevent the possibility of damaging the registry.

The free trial version of the product is available but it is feature limited and asks the user to purchase the full product in order to continue its use. It is restricted so that it can only delete 16 registry entries. Compacting the registry is only possible with the registered version.


==Bugs==
Registry Mechanic is known for one faunt in paricular which has caused many user distress, this has been dubbed the 'double click' bug.
If you do not leave a one millisecond pause in between clicks when starting the program from an icon then the program makes random changes to the registry without the user's consent. PC tools denies knowledge of this bug but many reports exist about it.⏎
