== Overview ==

Pewter City is the first available city with a Gym Leader in the [[Pokémon Red and Blue|Red, Blue]], [[Pokémon Yellow|Yellow]], [[Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen|FireRed, and LeafGreen]] Pokémon video games and appears in [[Pokémon Gold and Silver|Gold, Silver]] and [[Pokémon Crystal|Crystal]] after completion of the Pokémon League. Brock is the Pewter City Gym Leader, and specializies in Rock-type Pokémon.

== The Museum ==
In the video games, the Museum is one of the main attractions of Pewter City.  On the first floor, fossils of ancient Pokémon (such as [[Aerodactyl]] and [[Kabutops]]) are on display, and the second floor houses a space exhibit featuring several meteorites (thought to be Moon Stones) and a large [[Space Shuttle]] model. The museum is closed in the Gold, Silver, and Crystal versions due to renovations.

==Pewter City (Anime version) ==

In the original series, the first citizen Ash and Misty meet is Flint, Brock's father, unknown to Ash at the time. The Pewter City Pokémon Center is where Ash gets the idea to participate in the Kanto League. The Gym is inside a giant Petwer-like rock, where Ash had his battles with Brock. 

In the Pokémon Chronicles episode, "A Family That Battles, Stays Together", Brock returns home to find out that his mother has become a water trainer.  He then has to help his brother to save the Gym. He does and he gives his brother Forrest a few of his Pokémon including Onix, Geodude and Crobat. 

In the Advanced Generation series, Ash, May, Max, and Brock make a stop at Pewter City on the way to their final Battle Frontier area and have to protect the gym from Team Rocket.
