This is the page to deal with discussion and nominations for the U.S. Southern Collaboration of the Week. Please sign your votes after contributing; only member votes will be counted. You do not have to be from the South to either submit nominations or vote.

Nominations
The next USSCOTW will be picked on Sunday, November 7 by which candidate has a higher number of support votes.

If a nomination is unsuccessful, it will be kept for a minimum of three weeks unless determined by consensus to not have been eligible in the first place. Any article which does not have eight supports after three weeks will be removed from consideration. The majority support vote rule stands for picking nominations.

*Just thinking of some other ways this project can be helpful -- how about everyone does what they can to document the local music scenes in their areas, either by doing the research or posting some recruitment notices at music stores or whatever. We may want to develop some guidelines on how to do so first -- we want historical documentation of prominent local bands, venues, record labels, immigrant communities etc, not fancruft, and we should especially encourage looking at historical records (local libraries might have otherwise unavailable materials)... This would not be a collaboration of one specific article, but of multiple articles like music of Texas, music of Florida.

*As above, not a collaboration of one article, but rather everyone promising to make a non-stub article on local Senators and Representatives. If it works, wecould follow it with governors, mayors or something. Tuf-Kat 00:53, Oct 24, 2004 (UTC)

*I don't really know who he is, but he's mentioned as prominent on U.S. Southern states, through which I am browsing to find new nominations. He's a writer, presumably an important one. If we had an article, I could be more educated right now. Tuf-Kat 00:53, Oct 24, 2004 (UTC)

*I proposed this for the main Collaboration of the Week, but it got pruned. Maybe it'll do better here. It certainly deserves more than the current stub. McMullen 02:12, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
