"Into the Hollywood Groove" is a song by American singer Madonna featuring Missy Elliott from her 2003 remix EP Remixed & Revisited. The song appeared in a GAP commercial to promote the company's new denim jeans line.
The song was released July 28th, 2003 and was written by Madonna, Stephen Bray, Mirwais Ahmadzai and Missy Elliott. It was produced by Missy Elliott.
In the summer of 2003, Madonna and hip-hop star Missy Elliott appeared together in a GAP commercial which advertised GAP's new denim jeans line. For the commercial, which premiered on TV stations all around the world on July 28th, 2003, a new version of Madonna's then-current single "Hollywood" and her 1985 hit "Into the Groove" were mixed together by Elliott and became "Into The Hollywood Groove". A heavily edited version of the song first appeared in the GAP commercial.
The song however was first only released on a special Promo Only 2-track GAP instore CD which was available if a pair of jeans was purchased. Later, the track appeared in a longer, remixed version on Madonna's Remixed & Revisited EP. The version on Remixed & Revisited Edits out any mention of GAP.
