Revision 145467223 of "Talk:Talisman Desktop" on enwiki

I don't know a lot about this software. Does anybody know about any third-party theming tools? Are there any other shell replacement titles out there that can have links to/from this page under a '''Comparable Software''' heading?--[[User:JackSchitt|Jack Schitt]] 02:00, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

To resolve the notability issue, I added a bunch of misc. facts about the app's popularity. Additionally, I got about 559,000 hits in google. This should fall within the notability guidelines for software.--[[User:JackSchitt|Jack Schitt]] 05:41, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
:I'm not sure that citing randomly chosen user reviews from a site that doesn't screen submissions really solves a "notability issue". Experience shows that the vast majority of these reviews are effusively positive about superficial characteristics of the subject, often ignoring obvious defects and shortcomings. It would probably be a better idea to cite ''journalistic'' reviews from technology magazines, or websites devoted to the shell replacement, skinning and theming communities. The Download.com editor's review is a step in the right direction, but it's clear the guy didn't spend more than a few minutes with it. I'm not really sure what this "notability issue" is anyway; the software exists, that's reason enough for an article. It has enough regular users to prompt Lighttek to continue producing and improving it for nearly a decade. Surely that's justification enough for an encyclopedia article? This entire article reads like "ten-reasons-why-you-should-use-this-instead-of-other-shells" and "why-this-isn't-as-popular-as-other-shells-but-with-a-pitiful-excuse." Reads like a commercial. Blah.
