Revision 1948341 of "Talk:Wikipedia:Namespace" on enwikiThis talk page is an example of a page which is formally in the namespace of talk pages of articles, with a "view article" link at the bottom to a page that is not in the main namespace but in the Wikipedia namespace: Wikipedia:Namespace. Wikipedia talk:Namespace (the regularly named talk page) also links to that, with the link labelled "View meta page". Patrick 13:26, 14 Oct 2003 (UTC) Similarly (from pump): User:Stevertigo recently created Talk:User:Eloquence, which I'm pretty sure was a mistake. What's interesting is that the "View article" link (not "View user page", mind you) does actually link to User:Eloquence. This means everybody has two talk pages (sort of), a real talk page, and a talk page in the main Talk namespace. (I, of course, have a third talk page, at Talk:Cyan ;-). -- Cyan 02:11, 14 Oct 2003 (UTC) Yeesh.-戴眩sv 02:35, 14 Oct 2003 (UTC) :Would actually making use of this unintended (?) feature be deprecated? I could think of several possible ways to make use of it. And I don't mean me personally, but there might be a more general consensus for what the Talk:User:Foobar page could signify, if we really put our minds to it. BTW. does it give Eloquence the You have new messages indicator, when it has text that he has not read yet? -- Jussi-Ville Heiskanen 11:07, Oct 14, 2003 (UTC) :Frex one use would be to keep it as a dedicated page for personal announcements, like going on holiday from wikipedia (as if), or other pronouncements which are time-related. A sort of blog, written by only the user himself. Hmm. On second thoughts, maybe not... But there has to some useful function that page could serve, assuming of course that using it would not screw up search results in the main Namespace, or something similarly dire...? -- Jussi-Ville Heiskanen 15:08, Oct 14, 2003 (UTC) Wow! It's like a secret talk page. How fun. You could come here and talk about stuff when you got fed up of the talk on the real talk page and it would be a newbie free zone because they wouldn't know how to find it. Angela 22:16, Oct 14, 2003 (UTC) Such bug-born titles are very much deprecated, and could be disappeared en masse at any time with bug fixes to the title parsing code. I would recommend against using them. --Brion 11:02, 15 Oct 2003 (UTC) ----------- For wikipedia universe I suggest create wiktionary: or wt: to be used withing wikipedia, wikimedia and so on. Common user: I suggest create Common user acoounts. So, I can use my nick name in wikipedia, wikimedia, wiktinary, without re-registering. MAC 10:50, 13 Dec 2003 (UTC) :Are you lost? This is not even a real talk page. It could be "disappeared" at any time! :) Feature requests should be made to sourceforge. Angela. 14:40, 13 Dec 2003 (UTC) ::You know, Angela, that the real talk page Wikipedia talk:Namespace "sort of" redirects here. -- Sverdrup (talk) 14:43, 13 Dec 2003 (UTC) All content in the above text box is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license Version 4 and was originally sourced from https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=1948341.
