'''James Dickens''' (b. 20th Century ) is a member of the city council of [[Irving, Texas]] [[United States|U.S.]]. He was re-elected in May [[2004]] to serve a three-year term. Dickens is a City of [Irving Public Works/Engineering retiree. He currently serves as a member of the Council's Public Works committee and chair of the Community Services committee. He also serves as the council liaison to the Parks and Recreation Board and Youth Council], as well as the alternate liaison to the Preservation and Redevelopment Board. Additionally, Dickens serves on the Board of Directors of the [[North Texas Urban League]] and the Supplemental Benefits Plan Board. 

He has lived in  Irving since 1960, Dickens is son to American father and [[Mexico|Mexican]] mother and is fluent in [[Spanish]]. Dickens has two sisters Linda and Eileen, who live in [[Puebla]], [[Mexico]] with the family's [[mother]] and her son Joseph. When not visiting his children or grandchildren, he can be seen driving around Irving on his [[Harley-Davidson|Harley]] checking the city out.
