'''Mehmet Erte''' (born 1978- )  is a contemporary [[Turkish people| Turkish]]  [[poet]] and [[writer]]. He studied [[Physics]] at Sakarya University. His first published work is a poem titled “Yıldırımları Beklemek”, [[Varlık]] magazine in 1999. Erte’s works of [[poetry]], short stories, articles and interviews were published in different magazines like [[Varlık]], [[Kitap-lık]], [[Yasakmeyve]], [[Sonra Edebiyat]], [[Heves]], [[Kül Öykü]], [[Merdiven Şiir]], [[E]], [[Hayvan]], [[Milliyet Sanat]]. Erte was awarded 2003 [[Yaşar Nabi Nayır Poetry Prize]] with his work “[[Suyu Bulandıran Şey]]”, and in the same year this work published as a book. His first [[short story]] book “[[Bakışın Kirlettiği Ayna]]” is published in May 2008 by [[YKY]]. He worked as an editor at Yasakmeyve magazine for two years. He currently works as an [[editor]] at Varlık  Publishing House.
