Wife is Charlotte L Churchill, born USA c 1838; kids are Charles HJ Churchill, b. 1864 London, and Willie C Churchill, b. 1868 Upper Norwies, Surrey.
Stumbled across an Estate notice - London Gazette 29562 p 4303 28/4/1916 - that shows a Charles Churchill had died 15 February 1916. Executors include a Willis Clark Churchill and an Arthur Lynan (Lyman?) Churchill and solicitor is in Finsbury. The death year is correct per secondary sources; the Willis vs Willie could be a transcription error on the 1871 census; Arthur may not have been born by 1871.

: slight but insignificant transcription error gives "Charrotte" instead of "Charlotte" but the record also shows Charles jnr as b 1864 in Bow & Willis b. 1864 (!?) in Norwood, Surrey (? - that'll be the "Norwies" of 1871); and has Charles being born in Connecticut and Charrotte in New Yorkshire, USA. Also present now is Arthur b. 1872 in Hackney (fits with Executor name); Alice, b. 1879 in Clapton; Amelia, b. 1815 in Connecticut (says widower but obviously means widow!) as mother of Charles and a visitor; and Ellem, b. 1840 in USA, who is sister of Charles and a visitor. Charles's occupation is "merchant", which fits with what he says on patent applications already seen in London Gazette. Address is 33 Pembury Road. Citation is: Class: RG11; Piece: 297; Folio: 87; Page: 13; GSU roll: 1341064.
Harry Lewis also shows up at the address: brother-in-law of Charles (means Charlotte was nee Lewis?), b. New Yorkshire, USA. He is listed as a merchant NOT as a visitor. Also present is Fanny Wiley (housemaid), Louisa Wiley (nursemaid) and Alice Catilery (cook).
