It is associated with, but not the European branch of, the [[International Organisation of Good Templars]].
The main aim of EGTYF is peace and tolerance in the world. They consider [[alcohol]] and other [[drugs]] one of the main reasons of [[violence]] and conflicts among people and therefore members of EGTYF promote a drug-free lifestyle by their own [[abstinence]] - to prove that having fun, making friends and being free is possible without alcohol and/or other drygs, as is common belief around the world today.
EGTYF is only an umbrella organisation and thus doesn't do much work of it's own - EGTYF provides the space for self-realisation, for making new contacts, for exchange projects, education and much more and is a support for each national organisation in reaching the main common goal - peace and human dignity.
EGTYF also arranges the annual EGTYF Summer Camp. The camp of 2005 is to be held in [[Altthymen, Germany]].
