'''Dr. Sam Kelley''' was a [[Democratic Party (United States)|Democratic Party]] candidate for [[Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts]] in 2006, but dropped out on May 25 and planned to join the [[Deval Patrick]] campaign as a volunteer advisor on health care issues.

==Biography== 
Born on a [[Kentucky]] chicken farm, Kelley studied at [[Murray State University]], the [[University of Louisville]] School Of Medicine and [[Tufts University]].  He completed his child psychiatry residency at Harvard Medical School's McLean Hospital.  He is the former medical director of the [[Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children]] and a practicing [[psychiatrist]]. Kelley served on the Board of Advisors of the Human Rights project, worked as a legislative aide to Congressman [[Jim McDermott]], worked on the [[Clinton health care plan|Clinton Healthcare Task force]] and started his own [[health care]] company that he later sold.  Kelley is currently the Corporate Director of Behavioral Health at Catholic Health Partners and oversees behavioral health services in 24 hospital and outpatient systems. Dr. Kelley appears in the Boston Globe, New England Cable News, CNN Headline news and other media outlets as an expert in Child Psychiatry.
