'''Grr''' is an [[Onomatopoeia|onomatopoeic]] word with the main usage of imitating the sound of [[predator]] animals. It is one of rare pronounceable words of [[English language]] that consist solely of [[consonant]]s.

It may also be used in several additional meanings, derived from the primary one.

Grr is said, often by monsters, when someone is mad. It can be used in sentences such as:
"grr. You stole my alpaca!"

Grr can be said suggestively. It is normally done with a raised eyebrow, and often a hand movement. It signifies animal type lust, and is often used by cheap [[prostitute]]s in leopard print cat suits.  It can be used in contexts such as:

In the [[Dutch language]], in [[comic strip]]s, "Grrrrrr pfffffff" is used to signify snoring, much as "Zzzzzzz" is in [[United States|American]] strips. The "G" is aspirated much like the English "H" and the "r" is guttural and rolled. "Grrrrr pffffff," as pronounced in Dutch, is, in fact, a superbly accurate phonetic rendition of the sound of a snore.
