'''Neville Levy''' (b. in [[1892]], [[New Orleans]] - d. [[13 April]] [[1974]]) is an american captain of the [[Navy]].

== Biography ==
After graduating from [[Tulane University]] in [[1913]] with a degree in [[mechanical]] and [[electrical engineering]], he joins the [[army]] in [[1917]], first in the Military Aeronautics Service Division and then the Navy as a commissioned Ensign before joining [[Annapolis]] Submarine School, in [[1918]] and in [[1921]], a commission in the Naval Reserve, until [[1941]]. During [[World War I]], he served in the [[United States Army Air Corps]]. He founded, in 1921, the ''Equitable Equipment Company''. From [[1941]] to [[1946]], he serves as Assistant District Personnel Officer for the [[United States naval districts|Eighth Naval District]]. From [[1950]] to [[1958]], he is Chairman of the Mississippi River Bridge Authority and organizes the construction of the [[Greater New Orleans Bridge]]. He is also on the Board of Directors of [[New Orleans Public Library]], the [[Navy League of the United States]], [[International House Hotel]], the [[Salvation Army]], the [[United States Public Health Service|U.S. Public Service Hospital]], and [[University Hospital, New Orleans|Hotel Dieu]] and as a member of the [[National Audubon Society|Audubon Park Commission]]<ref>http://nutrias.org/~nopl/mss/levy.htm</ref>. 

He is the grandfather of Veronica Levy Obermayer, anchor and reporter at [[KAMR-TV]], the [[NBC]] affiliate in [[Amarillo]], [[Texas]]<ref>http://www.nytimes.com/1985/05/05/style/veronica-levy-obermayer-to-be-wed.html</ref> and Adele Obermayer who married the economist, [[David Malpass]].
