The '''Shivan Juggernaut Sathanas''' is a [[Descent:_FreeSpace#Shivans|Shivan]] warship from the [[computer game]] [[Descent: FreeSpace|FreeSpace 2]]. It is of the Juggernaut designation and is over 5.5 kilometers in length.

In FreeSpace 2, the first Sathanas Juggernaut was first encountered in a [[nebula]] beyond a portal found in the [[Gamma Draconis]] system, where it prompty destroyed the Tatanen, a [[GVCv Sobek|Sobek]]-class Corvette. The Sathanas proceeded to destroy many [[Galactic Terran-Vasudan Alliance|GTVA]] ships in the nebula before emerging on the other side of the portal, invading GTVA space. After a surgical strike by a Vasudan wing to disable the Juggernaut's forward beam cannons, the GTVA rallied their most powerful vessel, the [[GTVA Colossus]], to destroy the juggernaut.

After their victory, the GTVA once again entered the nebula. More Sathanas Juggernauts were discovered, the first of which destroying the [[GVD Psamtik]], a [[GVD Hatshepsut|Hatshepsut]]-class destroyer and flagship of the 3<sup>rd</sup> Vasudan Battlegroup. Despite the use of the newly developed [[TC Meson Bomb|Meson Bombs]] to destroy the [[Knossos (FreeSpace)|Knossos]] device, the Gamma Draconis-Nebula node had stabilised and the Sathanas fleet made its way to Capella, where they proceeded to converge around the Capella sun. Seeing they could not possibly destroy the rampaging Juggernaut fleet, the GTVA hatched a plan to seal off Capella, effectively closing the door on the Shivans. Before they were able to destroy the final link to Vega, the Juggernaut fleet, emitting a subspace anomaly, triggered a [[supernova]], thus destroying the Capella star. The Juggernauts, however, vanished as quickly and as mysteriously as they appeared.

The SJ Sathanas is the largest known ship in the Shivan armada. Like the [[SD Ravana]], a Sathanas is capable of easily decimating any enemy ship with its four heavy beam cannons mounted on the tip of each of its four arms; one beam is capable of destroying a [[GVCv Sobek|Sobek-]] or [[GTCv Deimos|Deimos-]]<nowiki>class</nowiki> corvette in a single charge, and all four are capable of destroying even a [[GTD Hecate|Hecate]]<nowiki>-class</nowiki> destroyer in mere seconds. Disabling a Sathanas is also very difficult due to the number of engines it has, as well as the fact that all its subsystems are defended by flak cannons, beam turrets and the like. However, it also shares the same weakness as the Ravana; its cannons can only fire at targets in front of it. Another weakness is that all of the Sathanas' weaponry is concentrated at the bow. If attacked from behind, the Sathanas is very vulnerable.
