Hello. As a regular contributor to the Doom Wiki (or at least formerly so), I thought you should know about this. Thanks, Xeriphas1994 (talk) 00:39, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
:Oh, that's great news! And thanks for the notice. Now I'll just have to figure out how to reclaim my account — I did find Quasar's post on the DW forums, at least, and sent him a PM, so hopefully that'll take care of that. Kinda strange that I didn't get the automatic invite he said admins on the previous wiki would get, but maybe it just got eaten by an overzealous spam filter. -- Schneelocke (talk) 09:53, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Hi - back in March last year you added "Interjection=encore!" as a dated use of 'author'. Please can I query this? Is there any evidence?
Author! may well be shouted on a first night, along with Encore! - but only to get the playwright on to the stage. —Saltmarsh 06:41, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

MSU Interview
Dear Schneelock,
My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
So a few things about the interviews:
* Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
* Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
* All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
* All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
* The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.
Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at [email protected] (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your nameHERE instead.
If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at [email protected]. I will be more than happy to speak with you.
Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 35.9.34.167 (talk) 21:28, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Tarkus.jpg)
Thanks for uploading :File:Tarkus.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:27, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi! This is just the required notification that :Microsoft Certified Professional, which you created, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2015 September 12 because of copyright problems. ==Disambiguation link notification for February 26==
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Barnafossar, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hvítá (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Icelandic PM
Hi, I reverted the ITN blurb for the Icelandic PM back to "steps aside" since there is no RS that says he has actually resigned, and most uses of the term "resign" came before his clarification that he didn't resign, or news organizations reading more in to the statment than there was. If you have a better source that definitively says "resign" then we can change it. Thanks. -- Fuzheado | Talk 14:03, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
:Hi, thanks for letting me know. Here's an English-language article from RÚV.is, which has an Update saying "The strange press release not withstanding, it has now been made clear that Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson will step down as PM. Apparently the press release was written by an aide. The two coalition parties are now in talks about how to form a new government with a new prime minister." (emphasis in original). Granted — it says "will step down", not "did step down", but it's been made clear that he's not merely taking an indefinite leave from the position, as it were. Perhaps it would be best if we said as much: "... steps aside and announces he will resign", or some such thing. -- Schneelocke (talk) 18:11, 7 April 2016 (UTC)All content in the above text box is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license Version 4 and was originally sourced from https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=714111390.
