Blakk began his gay porn career as Jett Blakk Katt, but dropped the last name after a year because he though it was too ponderous.  Jett arrived in [[Los Angeles]] in 1996 and immediately began working for gay porn director Sam Abdul of Forum Studios as a production assistant.  Within four months, Jett was directing Abdul's leather line, Leather Entertainment.
