Located in between the areas of [[Mokotów]] and the city centre, the park is currently one of the biggest in Warsaw. Until [[World War II]] major part of the park was occupied by an airfield and [[Warsaw University of Technology]] aircraft works. Pola Mokotowskie was also the seat of Warsaw Airport (until [[1934]]) and Warsaw Horse Racing Track (until [[1939]]).

Currently the place is famous for its bars and pubs as well as for Polish National Library located there.
