==When my phone rings at 3 a.m., I never know what's waiting for me. Why? Because along with editing Wikipedia, I’m also an
[[w:Emergency Medical Technician|EMT]].==
When I studied for my EMT license, Wikipedia was one of my tools. It turns out that editing Wikipedia is a great learning technique. If I could explain a complex medical term on Wikipedia, I could pass the test with an A+.

On Wikipedia, there's a team of editors from the medical field. Every month, we collaborate to improve a specific article. We check the facts, review the references, and improve the information available.

We don't get paid to do this. We do it because we love medicine, we love helping people, and we also love Wikipedia. We're lucky to have access to such quality resources… and we want to share everything we've learned.

One day, I plan to attend medical school and become an emergency department doctor. I hope Wikipedia will still be around. After all, I'm going to have a lot to learn — and hopefully a lot to share.

''' — Peter Coti'''

''Peter Coti lives in a small town in New Jersey. His first big project on Wikipedia was expanding the article on [[w:Stab Wounds|stab wounds]]. Peter is attracted to medicine because it involves problem-solving along multiple dimensions — like a real-life crossword puzzle.''
