==Teorija==

Giroux je važan prinosnik raznim akademskim granama, uključujući kritičku pedagogiju, kulturnim istraživanjima, studijima mladih, medijskim istraživanjima te mnogim drugim. Njegov rad vuče inspiraciju iz brojnih teorijskih tradicija koje se protežu od [[Marxa]] do [[Paulo Freire]] te [[Zygmunt Bauman]]. Također je zagovaratelj [[radikalne demokracije]], snažno se protiveći anti-demokratskim tendencijama [[neoliberalizma]], [[militarizma]], [[imperializma]], [[religioznog fundamentalizma]] i brojnih napada na socijalnu državu, socijalna primanja, omladinu, siromašne te javno i visoko obrazovanje. Girouxovo najnoviji rad se fokusira na [[javnu pedagogiju]], pojam koji je osmislio kako bi opisao prirodu of the spektakla i [[novih medija]] te političke i obraznovne snage globalne kulture. redoviti je kolumnist za [[Truthout]] te piše za nekolicinu akademskih časopisa.

==Postignuća==
Henry Girouxova djela osvojila su mnogobrojne nagrade te napisao niz javnih i znanstevnih radova. Giroux je napisao više od 60 knjiga, objavio više od 400 radova te stotine poglavlja u tuđim radovima, člancima, knjigama i brojnim drugim publikacijama.

Za vrijeme boravka na [[Miami Sveučilištu]], Giroux je proglašen uvaženim učenjakom. Osvojio je nagradu za gostujućeg uglednog profesora 1987.–1988. na [[Sveučilištu Missouri–Kansas City]]. Između 1992. i 2004., držao je Waterbury Chair Professorship na [[Penn State Sveučilištu]]. Nagrađen je  Visiting Asa Knowles Chair Professorship nagradom od strane [[Northeastern Sveučilište]] 1995. Osvojio je stipendiju za istraživanje na[[Tokyo Metropolitan Sveučilištu]] u kolovozu 1995.

1998. Giroux je odabran u Laureate Chapter [[Kappa Delta Phi]]. Nagrađen je Uvaženim gostujućim predavačem umjetničkog obrazovanja u školi [[Umjetničkog Instituta u Chicagu]] 1998. i 1999. Dobitnik je [[Getty Research Institute]] Gostujući učenjak nagrade za svibanj–lipanj 2000. Odabran je kao Hooker uvaženi gostujući profesor na [[McMaster Sveučilištu]] 2001.

Giroux je imenovan jednim od najboljih pedeset obrazovnih mislilaca modernog doba u ''Pedeset modernih mislioca o obrazovanju: Od Piaget do danas'' kao dio [[Routledge]] "Ključne smjernice serija izdavanja" (2002). 2001. osvojio je James L. Nagrađen je počasnim doktoratom Humane Letters degree od strane Chapman Sveučilišta u California 2015.  Dobitnik je Nagradu za životno dijelo dodijeljenu od strane AERA. 2015 dobio je dvije velike nagrade od Chapman Sveučilišta: “Nagrada za mijenjanje svijeta" i “Nagradu Paulo Freire demokratski projekt socijalne pravde.” Također tijekom 2015.
