Gerard Long  è nato a Lawrence, [[New Jersey]], ed è cresciuto a [[Trenton]]. Hodgy Beats era un membro originale degli OFWGKTA insieme a [[Tyler, the Creator]], precedentemente membro dei [[MellowHype]] insieme a [[Left Brain]], [[The Super 3]], [[Jasper Dolphin]] e [[Casey Veggies]].

Hodgy è stato il primo membro degli Odd Future a pubblicata un lavoro da solista, ''The Dena Tape'', nel [[2009]].

Il 5 aprile [[2011]], i MellowHype hanno interpretato il brano ''64'' durante il programma ''The Daily Habit'' in onda su [[Fuel TV]] con [[Bass Drum of Death]].

Hodgy Beats ha collaborato con numerosi artisti come [[Nas]] e [[Pusha T]].
