Si tratta infatti di una vicenda molto complessa, la cui chiarificazione è resa più problematica dalla prematura scomparsa, lo scorso anno, del responsabile dell'ufficio del gip della Procura di Catania, Rodolfo Materia che avrebbe dovuto autorizzare o negare l'autorizzazione alla pubblicazione della suddetta lettera. D'altra parte, di pubblicazioni di articoli, lettere o documenti aventi origine controversa è costellata la storia del giornalismo italiano. Non mi pare, tuttavia, che delle pubblicazioni controverse avvenute sulle pagine di praticamente tutte le testate storiche italiane, nazionali e regionali, si faccia menzione alcuna sulle relative voci Wikipedia. Voci che, nel caso dei quotidiani, offrono a chi le consulta un quadro sintetico e storico dei personaggi, dei luoghi e del contributo apportato dalla singola testata alla vita del giornalismo e dell'editoria in Italia.
