== Carrière ==
Allan Neal Jones begon zijn carrière in 1998 bij een kleine Amerikaanse promotie als een gemaskerde worstelaar genaamd Mr. Olympia. Na gevochten te hebben bij een aantal kleine promoties en een wedstrijd bij de [[World Championship Wrestling|WCW]] kreeg hij in 2002 de kans om een contract te verdienen bij de [[WWE|World Wrestling Federation]]. Hij sloeg dit aanbod af omdat hij niet wilde verhuizen omdat zijn vrouw haar studie wilde afmaken.

In 2002 tekende A.J. Styles een contract bij de NWA. Hij werd in dat jaar gekroond als de eerste [[TNA X Division Championship|TNA X-Division kampioen]]. Ook won hij in zijn debuutjaar de Tag Team titels samen met [[Jerry Lynn]]. In 2003 werd hij gekroond tot NWA World Champion. Hij werd al snel één van de meest populaire worstelaars in NWA/TNA. In 2004 keerde hij terug naar de X-Division waar hij tot 2007 zes maal de houder was van de [[TNA X Division Championship]], ook won hij drie maal de [[NWA World Heavyweight Championship]]. In 2007 werd de naam NWA definitef verandert naar TNA. A.J. Styles werd een van de leden van TNA Front Line die het opnamen tegen de [[Main Event Maffia (worstelgroep)|Main Event Maffia]]. In 2009 won AJ Styles zijn eerste [[TNA World Heavyweight Championship]]. In 2010 was A.J. Styles de leider van [[Fortune (worstelteam)|Fortune]] een groep die gemanaged werd door [[Ric Flair]]. In 2013 won A.J. Atyles zijn tweede en laatste [[TNA World Heavyweight Championship]]. Eind 2013 werd bekend dat AJ Styles geen nieuwe contract zou tekenen en na bijna 12 jaar zou vertrekken bij [[Total Nonstop Action Wrestling|TNA]].

Na zijn vertrek bij TNA vocht Styles voor meerdere organisaties, zoals [[Ring of Honor]] en ging hij ook naar Japan om te vechten voor de [[NJPW]]. Hier werd hij de leider van de groep [[Bullet Club]], die was opgericht door [[Finn Bálor]] en bestond uit veelal Amerikaanse worstelaars zoals [[Karl Anderson]] en [[Drew Hankinson|Luke Gallows]]. Hij won tweemaal de [[IWGP Heavyweight Championship]]. Toen in 2016 bekend werd dat Styles een contract had getekend bij de [[WWE]] werd A.J. Styles uit Bullet Club gegooid en opgevolgt door [[Kenny Omega]].

A.J. Styles maakte zijn debuut in de WWE als 'surprise entrance' in de [[Royal Rumble]] van 2016. Hij vormde in het begin een groep samen met [[Karl Anderson]] en [[Drew Hankinson|Luke Gallows]] die ook een contract hadden getekend bij de WWE en noemden het 'The Club'. In zijn eerste [[WrestleMania]] verloor A.J. Styles van [[Chris Jericho]]. Na de WWE Draft  werd The Club opgesplitst en ging A.J. Styles exclusief naar Smackdown. Op 11 september 2016 won AJ Styles zijn eerste [[WWE Championship]]. Deze verloor hij weer aan [[John Cena]] in een titelgevecht op de [[Royal Rumble (2017)|Royal Rumble 2017]].
