Revision 33241 of "Deborah Chashi" on nywiki''Deborah Chashi'' Deborah is a Zambian female gospel song singer and writer. She wan born on 28 April, 1992 in Lusaka Zambia. Chashi is a Christian. Completed her education in 2011 at Olympia Secondary school in Lusaka. AT THE age of 16, Deborah Chashi aka Deborah C, was once involved in a series of activities which left most her peers puzzled. “I perceived myself as a tom-boy and belonged to a group of young, though notorious gangsters, who robbed and attacked innocent people,†she says about her life in Lusaka’s Matero. All this happened right under the nose of her four siblings and parents. But realising that she was in junior Secondary School (at St Monica’s in Matero) and an intelligent girl, Deborah, who completed her high school at Olympia secondary school in 2011, had to find a solution. Her first step to salvation was to seek God’s intervention through reading the Bible, which she says strengthened her faith in God. Although I began singing at the age of 10, it was not until I had received Jesus Christ as my personal saviour and redeemer on June 6, 2007, that I began to minister the gospel,†she narrates. Now a member of the Jesus Assemblies Ministries Church in Matero, Deborah has moved on and confesses that there is joy in worshipping the Lord. The first born in a family of five, Deborah, now aged 22, has just released her debut album full of songs which have reconnected her with Jesus. “I was inspired by the scripture in Jeremiah 29:11 that partly reads: ‘I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity not disaster…’ and I followed Jesus’ path,†Deborah says. ""Songs"" Her album is titled “Run to You†and contains songs which Deborah fully believes minister to her and others. “After I composed the song ‘Run To You’, I was positive that I will run to Jesus like a chid taking its first step and exceedingly grow in the Lord and never to look back,†she says. A belated independence song titled “Jubilee†opens this 10-track album with an assurance of God’s restoration to our land after 50 years. Award-winning gospel singer Karen features on the song Zina Lanu, a praise and thanks giving tune that exalts and uplifts the name of Jesus Christ. On the song titled Simbangai (featuring Steve G.), Deborah pours all her worship to the Lord for His mercies that were paid on the Cross of Calvary. Her other profound praises are found in another song titled Nikuyamikeni, on which she features another young revelation in the gospel music circuit, Regina Mwanza, of the “My God Is Good†fame. And when Deborah, who is inspired by Suwilanji and Karen, looks back at what her peers have achieved, she can still safely sing that God’s time is the best; that is what the song Waiting on You is about All content in the above text box is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license Version 4 and was originally sourced from https://ny.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=33241.
