== Władysław Jóźwicki ==

Władysław Jóźwicki (20 April 20 1918 – 15 June 1943), pseudonym: Sęp, ‘’Vulture’’, a member of the underground Home Army (Armia Krajowa).

Władysław Jóźwicki was born in Piotrków near Lublin. He finished a primary school in Baranów, where he joined a scouting organization. He studied in Warsaw where he attended the Warsaw School of Economics that he finished in 1936.

He took a job in the office of the Municipality of Górzno. After the start of the German occupation he took up underground activity with Edward Jóźwicki and Boleslaw Jóźwicki, his two older brothers. 3 May 1940, he was promoted to the rank of senior gunner. He took part in many successful actions against German troops.

On 13 June 1943 he was wounded and arrested during the action of destruction the farm buildings working for the Wehrmacht. Stanislaw Paziewski ps. "Birch" and Jan Więckowski ps. "Bolek" who took part in the action were killed by the Germans. Władysław Jóźwicki was captured and interrogated by the German police for many hours. He tried to escape during transport but was stopped by the Navy-Blue Police, handed over to the Gestapo and subjected to further severe investigation. He was executed on 15 June 1943 in the forest in Miętne, near Garwolin. After the war his body was moved at the cemetery in Górzno and buried along with Stanisław Paziewskim and Jan Więckowski.

In 1997 Górzno Primary School was given the name of Władysław Jóźwicki
