Nea Penteli is an affluent residential aurie an is kent for its fantastic view o Athens.  The aurie uised tae consist o fermlands that wur mainly pastures or groves. Suburban hoosin arrivit in the 1970s an development continued slowly intae the 2000s.  Nea Penteli haes ane primar schuil, a heich schuil, several banks, an a few squares.  At the centre o the municipality is a smaw hill namit Profitis Ilias, namit efter the smaw kirk constructit on top o it.  On the sootheastren side o the kirk is the Neopendelikos soccer field, constructit on top o a smaw loch.  The loch wis laund-filled atween 1970 an 1980. Mony o the aulder ceetizens o Nea Penteli are quarry wirkers that came tae the aurie frae the islands o Paros an Naxos durin the 1950s an 1960s tae wirk in the marble quarries o Penteli.
