Revision 16305 of "Projekt:Europeana Awareness/GLAM Event 2/English" on sewikimediaTogether with Axel Pettersson, who is hired by WMSE to work on GLAM projects in Sweden, we are working on developing an editathon and possibly also a photo scavenger hunt that will be organized in cooperation with the Nordic Museum, with Europeana Fashion (who will contribute with material for the event that can be used and also give presentations there about their work) and with Stockholm University (with their classes in fashion studies). We are also planning to contact fashion bloggers and possibly the Design High School in Sikla, Stockholm. The events will have fashion as the theme (the museum has exhibits with old clothing). We are hoping to attract a more diverse group of editors through this theme (we have bad coverage on fashion on Wikipedia and also a low percentage of female editors. Topics such as this could hopefully help to change these problems). During the photo scavenger hunt pictures would be taken of the fashion items. During the editathon we would help the participants to put in all the metadata and upload it and then write about the items on Wikipedia. The goal is to have around 30-40 people participating in one or both of the fashion events and learn how to contribute. To handle the large group we are thinking of organizing a small workshop at the university for some of the students so that they can help out a bit during the editathon. The editathon will take place at the Nordic Museum. '''Connection to Europeana:''' Pictures and other files from Europeana Fashion will be used during the editathon to illustrate the articles and representatives from Europeana Fashion will give a short presentation about Europeana Fashion there.
