== Use ==

This is the {{t<noinclude>n</noinclude><includeonly>l</includeonly>|!}} template.

This template allows "<code>|</code>" to be used in template parameters. This template is needed because in templates, the pipe is usually seen as a separator.

No special template is needed for "<code>!</code>" (exclamation mark).

This template usually cannot be [[Wikipedia:Substitution|substituted]] (except in special cases, listed in [[#Substitution|the section below]]).

It is possible to [[Wikipedia:Substitution|substitute]] <nowiki>{{!}}</nowiki> only if a normal "'''<code>|</code>'''" works as expected. For example, after substituting the template with <nowiki>{{!}}</nowiki> in it, or after getting rid of an  [[mw:Help:Extension:ParserFunctions#.23if|#if]] with <nowiki>{{!}}</nowiki> in it.
