[[James Hong]]'s daughter April Hong was replaced by Wendy Yumi and Shanika Washington (where she cameo appeared and visited in the VHS episode "Cars, Boats, Trains and Planes" (1986)) in 1986. In 1986, the scottish dancers replaced the 1985 departed jumproper dancers. The departed kids named Mandie Fox (Bradley Dean Fox's sister), Shanika Washinton, Donetta Charles (H.B. Charles's sister), Julie Ann Gourson, and Rachael Holly were replaced/replaced back by Kristy Lynn Espinoza (born 1981) (Tina Marie Espinoza (born July 1976)'s sister) in the VHS episode "A Day with the Animals" (1986).
