He made up a plan named " The Continental System". It consisted in making Great Britain weak. He stopped the trade with Great Britain. Great Britain’s navy was better than France's, so his plan did not work. 3. Russia was not happy with Napoleon's decisions. Out of frustration Napoleon invaded Russia. With half a million soldiers Napoleon went to Moscow in the summer of 1812. But the Russians had a good tactic, they knew they could never defeat such an enormous army. They continued to retreat, but destroyed all food supplies so the French would not be able to find anything to eat. When Napoleon finally arrived in Moscow in September. But there was no Moscow, it was nearly desert. So Napoleon needed to leave empty-handed. The winter started to retreat him. Hundreds of thousands of men and horses died of hunger, exhaustion and frost. This event was also said to be the beginning of the end. 4. The Battle of Leipzig or Battle of Nations, on 16-19 October 1813, was fought by the coalition armies of Russia, Prussia, Austria and Sweden against the French army of Napoleon.
