At its launch, programming on Minimax consisted of adaptations that were loosely based on real series (such as Professor Why, which was an American adaptation of the British series Doctor Who).

On December 25, 2013, Minimax launched as a digital cable and satellite television channel at 10:00 a.m. with an episode of Animal Atlas. During the channel's few weeks on air, in between [[Continuity (broadcasting)|continuity]] featured promos for series on the channel and also on the block on Max TV. The channel was later accompanied by a online website of January 1, 2014.

With the acquisitions of Corus Entertainment and Classic Media by Qubo and DHX Media and Frederator Studios leaving the venture, AMC International Networks formed a new partnership with Odyssey to remove the linear aspect. Minimax was rebranded as Bloxtoon Network at 12:00 p.m. the same day, as Minimax programming was carried on or terminated.

The Bloxtoon Network programming output is dramatically similar to the strand on Odyssey TV, with the channel featuring archived content from the libraries of Corus Entertainment, Frederator Studios, and Classic Media (despite the fact that the companies left), with series such as Fishtronaut, Atomic Betty, and The Aquabats Super Show. Though there was an early promise that new original series would debut every five months, Bloxtoon Network debuted new series intermittently -- but not everyday-- at 6:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. since 21 June 2014; however, this was pulled on 1 July 2014.
