'''''Night By Night''''' is the upcoming solo sophomore studio album by American recording artist River Stumpf set to be released on November 25, 2015 through Interscope Records and Pop Eclectic, distributed through Universal Music Group. ===Background===

Throughout the first musical hiatus of River Stumpf and the Spooner Brothers, which took place between June 2013 and August 2014, lead vocalist River Stumpf began writing and recording his own material to release his debut studio album as a solo musician. On November 25, 2013, he released the album ''Pop Culture'' to positive critical acclaim. His singles "Penelope" and "Dear John", featuring Lorde, achieved commercial and chart success in the United States and the United Kingdom, each peaking in the top-ten on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the Official U.K. Singles chart. In support of ''Pop Culture'', he embarked on two different tours. During late November to December of 2013, he embarked on the 7 date Pop Roadies Tour, which took place in 7 cities in the United States and Canada with different supporting acts each date. He embarked on the Lip Service World Tour from February to May of 2014 with supporting acts Capitol Cities, Lorde, and Christina Grimmie on selected dates in North America and Europe.

River Stumpf and the Spooner Brothers announced the end of their indefinite hiatus in early August 2014. The band released their fifth studio album ''V'' on January 13, 2015 through Interscope Records. After touring in support of the album from February to October of 2015, Stumpf hinted at new solo material being release. On February 15, 2015, he published an ad for his debut fragrance line, titled ''Blur'', which featured a new song later confirmed to be titled "By the End of the Night." In an interview with Billboard magazine in June of 2015, he announced that the album would be titled ''Night By Night'' and that he was working with Martin Solveig on numerous tracks earlier in the year for his plausible forthcoming second solo studio album. In September 2015, it was confirmed that Stumpf had worked with recording artists Zayn Malik, formerly of One Direction, Ariana Grande, and Dragonette for his sophomore album. On October 2, Stumpf published on Twitter confirming that he will be releasing solo material this month.

On October 9, 2015, Stumpf released his single "By the End of the Night" as the lead single off of ''Night By Night.'' The single debuted at No. 14 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart and peaked at No. 2 on the Digital Songs chart upon its release. A music video for the single was uploaded to YouTube and Vevo on October 14, 2015. To promote the album, he performed on ''The Late Show With Stephen Colbert'' and on ''Jimmy Kimmel Live''. In a similar media promotion strategy that took place during Stumpf's last solo album release, he released 3 digital promotional singles starting with "All We Get" released on November 6 followed by "Drive" released on November 13, and "511's" released on November 19, 2015. The album was released on November 26, 2015, approximately two years following the release of his debut studio album ''Pop Culture''.
