The '''2016–2017 Metric World Tour''' (also simply known as '''2016 Metric World Tour''' or '''2016 the '''World Tour''') is the upcoming fifth world tour, and seventh tour overall, by American pop rock band Metric, in support across all studio albums. The tour was announced on November 18, 2015. The tour has onetwo leg ins; one North America with 41 total showsshows and one in South America with 8 shows total, thus far. Panic! at the Disco was announced as the supporting act for the tour.

===Background===

On November 16, 2015, the band announced their compilation album ''Story'', which is set to be released in February 2016. On the same day, the band revealed that they would be announcing their world tour on November 18. The 2016 World Tour was announced on Metric's official website, Facebook, and Twitter pages. Panic! at the Disco were announced as the initial supporting act and a "special guest" has yet to be revealed.
