'''Keggy the Keg''' is the [[wikt:unofficial|unofficial]] [[mascot]] of [[Dartmouth College]], an [[Ivy League]] university in [[Hanover, New Hampshire]], United States. Keggy is an [[anthropomorphic]] (human-like) [[Keg|beer keg]].  It was created in 2003 by members of the college [[humor]] magazine the ''[[Dartmouth Jack-O-Lantern]]''.  They made it up because the school had not had a mascot since it stopped using an Indian mascot in 1971. The mascot was [[wikt:controversy|controversial]] on Dartmouth's campus. It was reported on in a variety of national media.
