'''2456 Palamedes''' is a [[Jupiter Trojan]] asteroid that orbits in the {{L4}} [[Lagrangian point]] of the [[Sun]]-[[Jupiter]] system, in the [[List of Trojan asteroids (Greek camp)|"Greek Camp"]] of Trojan asteroids. It was named after the [[Ancient Greece|Greek]] hero [[Palamedes (Greek mythology)|Palamedes]]. It was discovered by the [[Purple Mountain Observatory]] in [[Nanjing]], [[China]] on January 30, 1966.

[[Photometry (astronomy)|Photometric]] observations of this asteroid during 1995 were used to build a [[light curve]] showing a [[rotation period]] of 7.258 ± 0.004hours with a brightness variation of 0.05 ± 0.01 [[Magnitude (astronomy)|magnitude]].<ref name="AJ141_5_170"/>
