2456 Palamedes is a Jupiter Ttrojan asteroid that orbits in the L4 Lagrangian point of the Sun-Jupiter system, in the "Greek Camp" of Trojan asteroids. It was named after the Greek hero Palamedes. It was discovered by the Purple Mountain Observatory in Nanjing, China on January 30, 1966.

Photometric observations of this asteroid during 1995 were used to build a light curve showing a rotation period of 7.258 ± 0.004hours with a brightness variation of 0.05 ± 0.01 magnitude.
