The Brazilian Space Agency made Brazil a part of the International Space Station mission.

History
The Brazil Space Program was created in 1961. The Brazilian military had full control of Brazil Space Program. Since the military controlled the program, research was badly slowed down. Some technological research was not allowed because other countries were worried about there being more nuclear bombss and ICBMs put together.

Brazil launched it's first satellite that was made only in Brazil on February 9, 1993. The satellite was used to study space.

On February 10, 1994, The Brazilian Space Program became the Brazilian Space Agency when the Brazilian military stopped running the agency.
