'''Derick Ooi Tze Wei''' is best knows as Derick by most, came from a well-disciplined family from Penang. With the strict nurturing from his parents, he had become a very attentive yet humble businessperson.
As a young entrepreneur who is eager to learn, he attended many kinds of classes and seminars to upkeep himself with more knowledge. And so, Derick had always encouraged youngsters to continue improving themselves by taking chances to attend different kinds of classes or seminars to further their skills which help in achieving life targets. Derick always had a quote in mind which is “whenever there is an objective, there will always be a path to success”

== Education ==
Derick had never considered his future during his youth until some of his friends who are stylists encouraged him to join the beauty industry at his young teenage age. However, Derick was turned down by his family even though he had shown passion in the industry as they wished to see him advance in his studies. After years, Derick’s family had finally given their support when he completed his LCCI Diploma and them seeing persistence towards his dream. At that point, Derick joined the industry by just being only a helper/assistance in a salon to pick up the skills. To further improve, he decided to sign up for a professional hairdressing course and fortunately had completed them in a quick 4 months instead of 6 months compared to his other course mates.

== Career ==
With his new set of skills, knowledge, and experience, Derick started his first saloon business named Hydro Hair Saloon in 2004 and based on top of a wet market before moving into a better location in 2006. Further, in 2009, Derick had come across a friend turned partner Mr. Leon Lee that together they re-branded the initial Hydro Hair Saloon into today’s Hairstory International. The brand then evolved and multiplied in a number of stores until today. Derick had dreamed of transforming all hair salons in Malaysia into a "value-oriented" service provider in the near future where clients and hairstylists could gain mutual values during visitation to salons. 

== Success Story ==
With 14 years of experience, Derick chained out the business from one hair saloon into 11 Hairstory International salon branches, one (1) GlobalStory Academy, two (2) SugarNail salons, and two (2) factory outlets managed under Hairstory International.
