It consists of three segments: The first segment begins at State Route 82 (El Camino Real) in Sunnyvale, California and ends at South Springer Road in Los Altos, California. The second section begins at Riverside Avenue and ends at Covington Road in Los Altos, California. The third section begins near El Monte Avenue and ends at Tyndall Street in Los Altos, California. The road was named after [[John C. Freémont]], a former U.S. Senator in California. Both the city of [[Fremont, California]] and [[Fremont High School]] were named after him.⏎
