== Life ==
From 1906 to 1910, Burmann trained as a painter in {{Ill|Heinrich Repke|en}}'s [[studio]]. This was followed from 1909 to 1912 by years of study at the [[Kunstakademie Düsseldorf]] and from 1910 to 1914 with the history and church painter [[Heinrich Nüttgens]] (1866–1951).
