'''Georg Burmester''' (4 December 1864 in Barmen (today a district of [[Wuppertal]]) - 30 June 1936 in Heikendorf near [[Kiel]]) was a German painter.

From 1881 until 1883, Burmester studied at the [[Kunstakademie Düsseldorf]] under [[Heinrich Lauenstein]] (1835–1910) and [[Hugo Crola]] and from 1883 until 1889 at the {{Ill|Academy of Fine Arts, Karlsruhe|en}} with {{Ill|Gustav Schönleber|en}}. In 1886, he went on a study trip to Italy and did his military service in 1887/88. He lived in [[Kiel]] from 1889, where he met [[Ernst Eitner]].
