The '''Bietti-Buzzi refuge''' is a [[Alpine refuge|refuge]] located in the municipality of [[Mandello del Lario]] ([[Province of Lecco|LC]]), in the [[Lombard Prealps]] to 1,719 [[meters|m]].

== History ==
The Luigi Bietti refuge was born as a Releccio hut in [[1886]], the year of its inauguration. It is a single storey construction, which rises in the homonymous valley of Releccio, in the northern [[Grigna (monte) | Grigna]], under the Piancaformia ridge. Subsequently, the refuge will be dedicated to Luigi Bietti, president of the section of the [[Italian Alpine Club | CAI]] in Milan, who died in those years. Over time the structure undergoes changes with the addition of an upper floor and substantial renovations.

In [[2002]] it was closed, because the Milan CAI has no funds to bring it up to standard. In [[2006]] the refuge was purchased (by Elena Buzzi) by the CAI of Milan and then donated to the CAI of Mandello. From that year the refuge will be called "Bietti-Buzzi". Between 2007 and 2009, with the reconstruction of the water collection tanks, the construction of a winter bivouac for passers-by and the reconstruction of the building, the refuge underwent renovations.

== Features and information ==
It rises in the karst basin of the Releccio, in the presence of the Grignone and the Sasso Cavallo. The refuge is renowned for its good food.

From the Cainallo pass, parking at Val di Cino or Vo 'del Moncodeno, it is possible to reach the refuge in 1h30' along path 24 passing through the Porta di Prada, a natural karst arch.
Or you can start from Somana, a hamlet of Mandello del Lario and take path number 15 which in about 3h30 'will allow you to reach the refuge.

== Ascents ==
To the Northern Grigna, through the via del Caminetto or via del Guzzi, through the Ferrata dei Carbonari or through the mountaineering route of the gully (not equipped). Starting point for the ascents to the Balconata di Releccio, Pizzo dei Nibbi, Sasso Cavallo, Sasso Seneg, Sasso dei Carbonari.

It is possible to take a circular tour along the north side of the Grignone. Following path 24 you reach the Bietti refuge, continue along the equipped gully of the Guzzi and then go back down to the Bogani refuge; from there, along path 25 you return to Cainallo.
