'''The Maroon Masques''' is the [[Warren County High School]] drama department in [[Front Royal, Virginia]].  The Maroon Masques makes three main stage productions a year. Warren County High School is a AA school that competes in the [[AA Evergreen District]] which is a part of [[AA Region II|Region II]] in the [[Virginia High School League]]. Every [[autumn|fall]] they produce a one-act play that competes in the Evergreen District. In the [[winter]] they make a full length play and in the spring they do a musical.

In 2000, Warren County High School was a part of the Northwestern District.  That year, the Maroon Masques performed the play ''The Interview'' under the direction of Ken Knesh (1999-2007). They finished in first place and moved on to the Region II Theatre festival at Broadway High School. The following year, they placed second in the district festival and went to the Region festival two years in a row.  The Evergreen District was started in 2009 with Fauquier, Liberty, Kettle Run, Warren County and Brentsville, although Brentsville doesn't compete in theatre any more.  Under the direction of Chris Whitney (current director and drama coach, 2007-present), Warren County came in second and moved on to the Region II festival with the play ''Medea'' by Christopher Durang and Wendy Wasserstein.

On November 5th 2011, the Maroon Masques, with the one act play ''The Greek Mythology Olypiaganza! (Iliad! Iliad! Iliad!)'' by Don Zolidis, competed in the Evergreen District Theatre Festival, held at Liberty High School, and placed 2nd, 1 point behind Fauquier High School.  The top two schools moved on to the Region II festival.  On November 19, 2011, the Maroon Masques competed in the Region II festival.  Other competing schools included Millbrook, Briar Woods, Fauquier, Monticello, Loudoun County, Charlottesville, Loudoun Valley, and Skyline.  The Maroon Masques finished 1st and they are moving on to the state competition along with 2nd place finishers Loudoun Valley.  The state competition will be held on December 6 at Monticello High School.
