Sikh Populated villages, in [[Gujranwala District]], of Punjab, Prior to 1947 partition. All these villages had a very large number of [[Sikh]]s. Majority of the Sikhs, of this district, were farmers, and large owners of fertile land, in Gujranwala District, Even being a minority in the district, still the Sikhs possessed more land than the Muslims who were a majority. Muslims forming about 70.45% out of the total Gujranwala District Population, where the Sikhs were less than 60% in the tehsils of Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Wazirabad. The Sikh Population, of Gujranwala district, consisted of mainly Jatt, others were Khatri, Arora, Rajput, Lubana, Mazhabhi, tribes. The first Jatt clan of this District to convert to Sikhism, was the Virk Jatts, and the Waraich Jatts, from 1580-1606, the majority of the Jatt Sikh clans, converted to Sikhism, between 1721-1759.  

''Very Notable and famous Sikhs, rose from this rich, district of Gujranwala, Such as Maharaja Ranjit Singh Sher-e-Panjab (1780-1839), the Sikh Emperor of Punjab, Sardar Maha Singh Sukerchakia (d. 1790), Nawab Kapur Singh (1697-1753), a Virk Jatt Sikh Warrior of Kaloke village, before part of Gujranwala District, now (Sheikhupura District), Sardar Jodh Singh Waraich of Wazirabad, Kuka Gurcharan Singh Virk, revolutionary freedom fighter against the British, during the 1870s and 1880s, and Sardar Kartar Singh (1874-1962) of village Jhabbar, in Gujranwala a Virk Jatt, who took part in the Akali Sikh Movements of 1920-25, and many more, arose from this district,  ''
