'''Dihi Union Public Library''' [DUPL] is the first [[Trade union|union]]-based public [[library]] in [[Bangaldesh]]. It was established on 30 November, 1977. [[Professor]] Amirul Alam Khan, Shamsur Rahman Kebol and some other young men founded the library.  Prof. Khan's father Tabibar Rahman Khan was the guiding inspiration behind founding the library. Small subscriptions from poor people made establishing DUPL possible.

Abdul Mannan Khan convened the first meeting and Akbar Ali Sarder donated a piece of land to construct the library building upon it.

The library is in a [[rural]] area [Pakshia Bazar] in [[Jessore]] [[district]] on the Indian boarder. It serves the [[student]]s, [[teacher]]s, [[farmer]]s, small [[trade]]rs and all others without any cahrges. The library lends [[textbook]]s to students for both short and long periods of time. 

The library has  different sections including a [[philatelic]] section and an [[sound|audio]]-[[image|visual]] section, a social museum, seminar section. It has a well developed [[arboretum]].

Students are the major users of the library. Apart from the students, local people of different ages and professions also use the DUPL. The library awards scholarships to the poor but brilliant students and helps them to persue higher education. 

DUPL is a UNESCO Library Network member.
Mr. Abdus Samad, the Head Master of Pakshia High School, is the Secretary of DUPL.
