== Life ==
Mülfarth obtained his doctorate in 1964 at the [[University of Cologne]] with a [[thesis]] about [[Johann Wilhelm, Elector Palatine]] and the ''Jülichberg [[Landstände]] 1679–1716''.

From 1969 to 1974, Mülfarth was rector of the [[Karlsruhe University of Education]].
