Ricardo is the son of the [[writer]] and [[poet]] Orlando da Costa, who is a [[Catholicism|Catholic]] from [[Goa]]. He is the half-brother of the current [[Prime Minister of Portugal]], [[António Costa]], son of journalist Maria Antónia Palla . == Career ==
He studied a degree in [[Communication|Communication Sciences]], without completing it, at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at NOVA University Lisbon.

At the age of 21, he started working at the weekly newspaper ''Expresso'', he was the director between [[2011]] and [[2016]] after being a manager at the television stations SIC Notícias and SIC .
